Anti-Advertising

When the local gas company changed its name and its logo, the logo was so garish that the first few times I got the bill, I almost tossed it as junk mail. Several other people made the same comment.

However, when they sent the notice about public hearings for a rate increase, the letter came in an envelope that was so plain, with the return address so unremarkable, that again, I almost tossed it as junk mail.

 

Clever.
