If the government spends $19,500 in bribes to catch a crooked politician in a sting,
Should the politician have to pay back the money?
A former St. Louis alderman says, “No.”
His contention is that the government spent the money to catch him; they got what they paid for. So he should be able to keep the cash.
We’ll see how it turns out.
