We're Too Old for Good TV

“Harry’s Law,” a TV show featuring an older star, was cancelled by NBC—not because of low ratings—in fact, it’s NBC’s second-highest rated show—but because viewers weren’t in the right age group, the 18-49 crowd. I guess we older folks either aren’t as susceptible to advertising as the younger ones, or we don’t want what they’re selling, so they don’t want us.

So I tried to figure out which products would appeal to people my age, so that NBC could get different advertisers; but all I could come up with was the Cadillac (because, let’s face it, it has a great ride, easy on aging bones). So as far as good TV viewing goes, I guess we’re doomed.
