We heard a presentation saying that most
Americans don’t take nearly enough vacation; and that you need tons of time off
to recharge and refresh. (The point of the presentation: You need to Get Away,
so buy a Time Share!)
I could have pointed out that, for a timid
person, every day can hold an adventure.
Driving into the mountains, going downtown,
finding a new hiking trail, or going to a book club when you don’t know anybody
there... those are all adventures. Heck, just sticking your head out the front
door can be a challenge! So it’s all different, all good for taking you away
from your everyday world; and when you’ve successfully done it, you do feel energized and happy. No need for
exotic vacations.
Who knew there was a bright side to being
timid?
