Dear
L. P., High School Senior at a St. Louis-area school:
You
were born a male, but want to dress and be considered a female. It is your
right not to be bullied or harassed because of your gender identity issues.
It
is your choice not to use the unisex
restroom that the school has provided for you. So basically you’re causing a lot of
tension and trouble because you’re in a snit about your potty breaks.
And
I don’t care which gym class you participate in; but making other students
uncomfortable (which, by the way, they are entitled to feel) by insisting on
changing in the girls’ locker room is out of line. Find a place where you can
change and still get to class on time. And I mean YOU find the solution; don’t
expect the school to solve every problem you create. It’s not all about you.
We
all have things in life that we wish were different, but we have to deal with
them. At least people are trying to work with you. So try working with them for
a change.
