The Advent of Sinus Infections

December 1, 2013

I'd like to survey doctors and see how many people come in with sinus infections during the Christmas season: Not because of bacteria, but because of the scents!

Artificial Pine scent on the tree, cinnamon scent on the pinecones, candles smelling like vanilla, or apple spice, or gingerbread...And let's not forget the extra-heavy doses of perfume women seem to think are necessary during the holidays.

My throat is scratchy and my nose is clogged just from the smells!

try unscented nasal spray. Seriously, I've seen a few studies recently that say that gargling 3 times a day with tap water will cut down on the number of colds. Easy enough to do!

Thanks.

I do rinse my nose several times a day, and I think that's what's saved my bacon so far.
