I was sitting alone in the choir loft, watching all the people in church
down below celebrating the Christmas service in the middle of another COVID
surge that’s filling up hospitals. The churchgoers were smiling, happy and maskless.
And I thought, “If I were a health-care worker, I’d probably want to wring all their necks.”
