An Odd Direction to Point the Finger

There was a column in the Post-Dispatch by a woman who gave President Biden low marks for not successfully dealing with the pandemic—never mind that every time he tries to make people get vaccinated or wear masks, he gets stymied.

 

Blaming the president for people’s refusal to help conquer the pandemic

Is like refusing to send your kid to school, 

And then blaming the teacher because s/he doesn’t learn anything.

As I re-read the column, I see that the author did make a fair point about the president being urged to name an expert to help counter misinformation about the virus, with no action being taken. I agree with her that that was a big mis-step.
