The St. Charles (MO) County Executive is having a tough time. Some people are demanding that he appoint a political conservative to the library board. He says that he's never considered political affiliation before, "Previously, we sought to appoint people who wanted to serve their community, people who wanted to support libraries and literacy. The last thing I ever asked was their political preferences, but now I guess I'll have to ask them just how conservative they are."
No, you won't. Keep doing your job--protect libraries and literacy.
He doesn't even have the pathetic excuse that he's betraying the public trust just to stay in office, as he has said that this is his last term. He's already been a state legislator. So, unless he's running for governor next, there's no reason for him not to take a principled stand.
Just another guy who only wants to lead when people aren't giving him grief.
