The latest casualty in the War on Common Sense: Public Hygiene.
A St. Louis alderwoman is worried that police target homeless people more than others when they enforce the ordinance against going potty in public. So she wants to do away with the ordinance altogether. No restrictions. And we thought goose poop on the sidewalks was bad!
So, here’s the thing: In St. Louis, people have been shot in broad daylight, in full view of video cameras. Our thugs aren’t exactly bashful. But even they stop short of going in public.
Also, until now, what my father used to refer
to as “wee wee contests” were merely figurative. Now they might be real. Can you imagine getting caught in the crossfire?
Fortunately, the idea doesn’t seem to have gained much support.
