If you’re into conspiracy theories, think about this one.
I work in business, specifically with invoices, and I have noticed that there is an astonishing waste of paper in the invoice industry. It’s almost like someone is financing businesses to use as much paper as possible.
At least 2 companies that I deal with have 1 sheet of paper with necessary information, and three—no lie!—pages of filler. Others have a 1-to-1 ratio. I take the time to only print the necessary page, but I know other people who hit “Print” and just throw the extra pages away. “It gets recycled,” they say. News Flash: That takes energy; and you’re still killing trees to get that wasted paper.
Some companies have the useful information in one PDF and the filler—terms of payment, etc.—on another, so you only have to print what you need. So, it is possible not to waste paper on the verbiage that no one reads.
So, seriously, what’s the deal? Is there an evil genius behind the Waste Paper Movement?
Think of the rain forests, people! Think of the pine forests! We need them more than we need wasted paper.
