Have you ever traveled through a rural area or a small town and felt relaxed just by looking at it?
The thing that makes rural areas so pleasant to look at is the lack of development. It’s peaceful. No rushing, no stress. So, I wondered what would happen if somebody bought land and had the occasional house with a white fence and horses grazing and all the trappings of a peaceful countryside for people to drive past.
I keep reading Jack Reacher books, where peaceful-looking small towns hold ugly and dangerous secrets. This would be the reverse scenario: The only secret is that nobody really lives there, it’s just window-dressing to make people feel good.
There wouldn’t really be a business upside to it, but it would sure make driving more pleasant.
I think that would be cool.
