Train the Trainers

August 16, 2025

“Badly-trained people are training me badly.”

I wrote that little ditty when I started a job a while back.

I am a HUGE fan of having corporate trainers on hand; that way, they can train new employees, while the rest of the department handles the daily work, and nobody gets hopelessly behind.

I seem to be in the minority. We still follow the same formula: Someone gives 2 weeks’ notice, a replacement may or may not be found in that time frame, and the replacement has to be trained; usually by someone who is trying to get their own work done—and who has no idea how to effectively train people.

Well, if you can’t or won’t pay for a corporate trainer, at least send a few people to a seminar to learn some training techniques that they can pass on to others in the company. That way the people training new employees will at least have a clue as to how to go about it.

(I’m in that situation right now, so I got a kick out of hearing the radio pastor that I listen to say, “…and Satan is grooming his people to [lead believers astray].”

I felt like going into work and saying, “See? Even Satan has a training program!”)
