Constitutional Dominoes?

November 9, 2025

New York’s new mayor is an immigrant from Uganda. He may hold even higher offices in his career, but, per the Constitution, he can’t be president, because no person who was not born in the U.S. can be president. That measure was implemented in order to prevent the leader of the country from favoring his/her homeland to the detriment of the U.S.

President Trump wants to run for a third term, although the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution says that he can’t. The amendment was put into place to avoid having one person consolidate power and become President for Life, which is a move favored by dictators.

Republicans have pretty much been giving the president everything he wants. Will they override the 22nd Amendment?

If they do, can that become a legal basis for overturning the ban on foreign-born U.S. citizens becoming president?

If lawmakers are gutting the Constitution to appease their bases, they’d better consider how those bases will react to that.

Excellent points and excellent questions!
Now, how do we get them out in front of Trump's supporters?
