The hospitality industry is getting extremely creative about
ways to charge fees. An article I read today mentioned a hotel that charged an
extra $7 for a room on the top floor.
It reminded me of the innkeeper in the musical version of
“Les Miserables”:
“Charge ’em for the lice, extra for the mice, two percent
for looking in the mirror twice.
Here a little slice, there a little cut, three percent for sleeping with the window shut!”

Let’s hope none of these creative geniuses ever saw “Sweeney
Todd.”
