In Defense of Courtroom Napping

April 22, 2024

Much has been made of the fact that Donald Trump appears to keep falling asleep in court.

While I imagine that, as a defendant, I’d be too tense to nod off, under any other circumstances I can completely understand dozing during the proceedings. Courtrooms are not the hotbeds of excitement that they are portrayed to be on TV. In fact, if I ever had to explain why I should be excused from jury duty, I would point out that prolonged sitting while listening to someone drone on will inevitably put me to sleep.

And at least 10 pastors would back me up.
