If you don’t want to shop with
cash merely because it’s good for your budget (although that’s a very good
reason), here’s something else to think about:
When you shop at certain stores,
Macy’s and Home Depot among them, they give Facebook your info so that Facebook
can send you targeted ads.
The ads aren’t the problem—you
can change your Facebook settings so that you don’t get them. But if the stores
are giving Facebook your private information, to whom else are they giving it?
Another reason to pay cash, and
to skip the rewards cards. (See “Dis-Loyalty Cards” March 31, 2017).
