Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene thinks that schoolchildren should be trained with firearms. Oh, she’s not suggesting that they be responsible for school security. It’s just that, “If my children are in school and a mad man with a gun comes to a school to kill people, unfortunately a psychologist is not going to be able to just talk him out of it,” she said. “That is not a good way to protect kids.”
Implication: We should let the little ones pack, because who knows when they might be called upon to stop a shooter. This shooter, by the way, would have unfettered access to firearms because Greene believes in the bastardized version of the 2nd Amendment that she and her cronies peddle.
Please understand that I am not against young people ever learning about firearms. But training them to take arms to school in order to take on a mass shooter takes my breath away.
Think about the psychological effect on a young child of being trained to kill somebody “just in case”.
It should give you chills. Also, it will make a hell of a lot of children terrified of going to school.
And yet, Greene and others like her are still in office. That also gives me chills.
