Florida governor Ron DeSantis has asked President Biden for federal help after Hurricane Ian laid waste to the state. President Biden has granted the request.
DeSantis should be glad that Biden isn't like DeSantis's role model, Donald Trump. If anyone had criticized HIM the way that DeSantis has criticized Biden, it would have been a cold day in hell before Trump would have sent federal aid.

Dog-walking While Black; Watering Flowers While Black; and now, Sleeping While Black (in your own hotel room).
An artist staying at a New York hotel was sleeping in the room he’d already been renting for 2 days. It seems that the door to the room had a defective catch; he mentioned it to management, but nothing was done. I’m not sure why he kept the room, but he did.
The manager walked by one morning, noticed that the door was ajar, and came in to see if everything was OK. The guy explained, the manager left, and the guy went back to sleep. A half-hour later, the manager and another man came in using key cards, woke him up, and started yelling at him, telling him he didn’t belong and that he was a homeless intruder, and demanded that he leave.
How long until there are stiff penalties for this kind of harassment? Fines; jail time (for filing false police reports, if nothing else). People say you can’t legislate good behavior; but you can sure penalize bad behavior, if you want to.

People are scandalized at how much Donald Trump inflated his worth in order to get loans. He overstated the value of real estate by hundreds of millions, for example.
What I don’t get is how the appraisals of the property didn’t make it into the loan documents. Those claims were so inflated as to be obvious to anybody who was looking—especially if the appraisals were in the loan packet.
Sure, he snookered people. But he had help.
On another note:
I gotta know how this guy does it. Does he have magic sand that he throws in people’s eyes? Does he have a handshake like some Star Trek alien, with a chemical that automatically gives him mind control over you? He certainly has some sort of power. I’d love to know what it is.
