California has been hammered by heavy rain and snow for weeks, and roads are being flooded, snow-blocked, or washed out completely. But yesterday I saw a news clip that showed people stranded on the roads while they were traveling for the holiday weekend (MLK Day).
What the heck? You have a three-day weekend, so you HAVE to hop in the car and go someplace, even when you know it means risking your life?
Someone speculated that the fresh powder on the ski slopes may have been irresistible. Perhaps the skiers might want to take up cross-country skiing instead.
