Why Are They Blaming Books?

Missouri’s Secretary of State wants to control what books libraries make available, in terms of discussions or depictions of sex. Most of the comments his office received are against the idea, but one person wrote, “What is the rush to sexualize young children and teens…?”

 

I wanted to say, “Have you LOOKED at children’s clothing in the last two decades?” I certainly agree with the writer on her issue, but she needs to worry more about the kids’ clothing and phone apps than about the libraries. There was also that show “Toddlers and Tiaras” about child beauty pageants.

 

And she’s blaming the libraries for sexualizing kids??? 

 

Maybe she needs to open her eyes a bit more.
