What? No Mudslinging?

January 2, 2023

A guy in New York got elected as a US Representative, even though he lied about everything on his resume except his name. (Actually, he’s used aliases for various situations.)

Don’t parties vet candidates anymore?* I guess his party was too happy to have a candidate who could get votes to care about the particulars.

But what about the opposing campaign? No muckraking, no mudslinging? Here in Missouri, they managed to lob grenades like, “She’s too rich to really understand the common man,” at a career nurse with an impeccable record. What was this guy’s opponent’s campaign doing?

Somebody was sure sleeping on the job—in both parties.

*I asked the same question about Marjorie Taylor Greene.
