With the upcoming presidential election predicted to be very tight, Republican Senator Lindsay Graham is turning his attention to…Nebraska.
All states except for Nebraska and Maine award all the state’s Electoral College votes to the candidate who won the most votes. Maine and Nebraska award their votes to the winner of each district. That might mean that, in Nebraska, one EC vote could go to Kamala Harris.
Graham would like Nebraska to change its way of awarding the EC votes. That way, Graham’s preferred candidate, Donald Trump, could win the state and thereby the election. I suppose it could happen.
On the other hand, maybe state legislators who don’t want their state’s votes to go to Trump should follow Graham’s lead, and change their way of doing things to achieve the opposite result. And the GOP could hardly complain, since they’re the ones pushing for the change.
Warning to all parties: Act in haste, repent at leisure.
