Some Republican lawmakers in Missouri want to eliminate the 1% Earnings Tax paid by people who work in St. Louis, but who don’t live there and pay taxes for upkeep and infrastructure. When you combine that with the proposals to eliminate taxes on firearms, and freeze property taxes for senior citizens (which actually seems fair to me), this could be a great place for people to retire. So, here’s another entry in my list of Proposed Mottos for Missouri:
Missouri: A Great Place to Retire, if you don’t mind getting mugged at gunpoint or having no police to solve the crimes or not having good roads or trash pickup…
