They’re not buying votes, they’re encouraging civic engagement: Since candidates must have a minimum of 40,000 donors in order to be in the GOP presidential debate, some candidates are offering incentives to donors. In one case, people who donate $1 will get a $20 gift card.
Boss Tweed would be so proud.
